New Patients at Smile Makers Whitsundays
Our team welcomes you and does everything possible to ensure your first visit is a positive experience. We’re always happy to welcome new patients to our friendly, relaxing practice.
Appointment times are spaced out so that our practice is never crowded. You can take a seat and let us offer you water or coffee, watching TV while you relax. We don’t rush through your visit but instead take our time to fully inform you about treatment before beginning.
Your First Appointment
Initial visits are for three primary reasons:
- Dental emergencies
- A checkup and clean
- A checkup and clean with a treatment plan for future visits
If you’re here because of an emergency, we’ll promptly address your problems. If you come in for a routine check, we’ll complete a comprehensive full mouth examination. This process includes an assessment of your soft tissues, gums and teeth, as well as any X-rays or photographs necessary to provide us with information on your teeth and surrounding bone.
Your input is vital, and we’ll ask you about past dental experiences, your expectations, and any issues you would like to have evaluated. Based on our findings, we’ll present options for any future treatment that’s necessary. You’ll get a description of the process, the success rate and costs involved. Then, you can make an informed decision on what you’d like to do.
If all you need is a routine examination, scale and cleaning, this appointment takes 40-60 minutes. The time for emergency visits will differ based on the nature of your problem.
Ensuring Your Child Is Completely Comfortable
Sometimes, children can be worried about going to the dentist. We want them to know that they can have an enjoyable experience at our practice, in the gentle hands of our caring team.
We welcome you to call and book a time for your child to come in simply to get used to our clinic, at no charge. They can walk around, meet everyone and start to feel at ease. We’ll then get them scheduled for a future appointment to start treatment.
